Last Thursday, FLOC members and staff walked the picket line with fast food workers who were on strike fighting for $15 an hour and union rights.
Profits for fast food companies and their CEO’s continue to rise, while many fast food workers struggle to meet basic needs. Last year, McDonald’s Chief Executive Steve Easterbrook received 368 percent more in total compensation than the previous year, reaching $7.91 million in 2015, compared to $1.69 million in 2014.
Fast food companies, like large agricultural companies, are getting rich off of the hard labor of low wage workers. We proudly stand with all low wage workers and we salute the fast food workers who went on strike. As fast food workers, home care workers, adjunct professors, and farmworkers, together we demand fair pay for fair work.
Check out the video below of FLOC organizer and former farmworker, Raul Jimenez, speaking at the rally.
