Join the FLOC Homies Union September 10, 2016 as we walk to promote peace in our community. We join together to call for an end to violence on our streets, and police discrimination and brutality. We work to a build safe, vibrant community where brown and black lives are respected and protected.
We walk in memory of Abriel Ruiz, a tireless fighter for justice who was able to bring together rival groups in the neighborhood. Sadly, three years ago Abriel died due to an act of violence. In honor of Abriel, the FLOC Homies will hold a Peace Walk each year to continue to build on Abriel’s efforts in the community and raise awareness of the violence and police discrimination facing our community, particularly the youth, each day.
