Toledo, OH – FLOC held its 2nd annual Peace & Justice Walk. The walk was to honor the memory of murder victim Abriel Ruiz and his peace making efforts in the community as well as raise awareness to the victims of unsolved murders.
The FLOC Homies Union, a union created for young-adults within FLOC, led the march along with President Baldemar Velasquez through the cities of South Toledo.
“We need to unite with one another and change the narrative of our communities and of this city, and make it known loud and clear, that the majority of us are hard working citizens, we are part of loving families who have been a part of this city for generations, we are not criminals or do drugs because we are black, or brown or poor.” – said Monica Morales, who works directly with the FLOC Homies.
Multiple faith leaders were also present, supporting FLOC’s mission of justice, as it pertains to their faith.
